Spicy Fish

Another easy and cosy weeknight meal that comes together pretty quickly. Though we recommend pairing this Spicy Fish with some bread, it is also delicious entirely on its own. Just be sure to go heavy on the lemons!    

Spicy Fish

Serves : 4 – 6

Cooking Time : 15 MINUTES

Ingredients

  • Olive Oil – 1/3 Cup, plus more to drizzle before serving
  • Onion – 1 Large, finely chopped
  • Garlic – 3 Cloves, crushed
  • Fresh Green Chili Pepper – 1 – 2, chopped
  • Arabic 7 spice – 1 tsp
  • Whole Fish – 1kg, baked or roasted and deboned
  • Salt – to taste
  • Lemon Juice – 1/2 Cup
  • Fresh Coriander – 1 Cup, chopped
  • Method

    – In a medium sized pot, over medium heat, pour the oil and add the onions. Stir until the onions are golden.

    – Add the crushed garlic, chili pepper and mixed spice. Stir for 2 minutes, then add the fish, salt and lemon and stir gently to combine.

    – Note: Option to add more chili is preferred.

    – Reduce heat to low and allow mixture to cook until the water is practucally fully evaporated.

    – Before removing from the heat, add the coriander and gently toss to combine. Drizzle some olive oil and adjust seasoning if required.

    – Serve warm with lemon slices and some Arabic/pita bread.
