To all the Mamas out there, how many of you struggle with your kids’ lunchboxes?
Well, you are not alone. Granted, the go-to options are there for the busy days, but it is nice to surprise them every once in a while.
The best way to do that is through your weekly meal plan.
For example, if your child loves lasagne, who says they can’t have it at school too? Simply divide leftovers into individual portions, store in the fridge and pack them up the next day. Like pizzas, lasagnes are also great the day after.
Here are a few more tips to get you thinking:
- If you’re cooking breakfast on a Sunday, opt for a frittata or a quiche; both make for great school snacks.
- If you’re making a roast chicken or a Milanese for dinner, cut up the leftovers and make some delicious sandwiches.
- When making salads, make a little extra and avoid adding the dressing. Keep in the fridge and pack for school with the dressing on the side.
Planning ahead is key when it comes to meal prep for school snacks, and our blog post on ‘Planning Ahead‘ can help you get started. There are several ways to be creative; school meals don’t have to be boring. Just give it some thought, your kids will love you for it!
