Healthy Porridge

This Porridge is the best way to kickstart your morning; with a bowl of hearty and nutritious oats, topped with bananas, fresh berries and roughly chopped nuts for that added crunch. The satiating goodness derived from this bowl will leave you fuller for longer, and therefore less likely to snack throughout the day.

Serves : 2
Prep Time : 5 MINUTES
Cooking Time : 5 – 10 MINUTES

Ingredients

  • Oats – 1 Cup
  • Cinnamon – 1/4 – 1/2 tsp, according to taste
  • Milk – 1 1/2 Cups
  • Honey – to drizzle on top when serving
  • Walnuts – Roughly chopped, enough to scatter on top (optional)
  • Banana – 1, sliced (for serving)
  • Blueberries – Handful (for serving)
  • Method

    – Pour the milk in a medium pot and bring to a simmer.

    – Add the oats and cinnamon and cook over medium-low heat until the consistency is rich and creamy, approximately 5 – 7 minutes.

    – Pour into two serving bowls and drizzle with honey, walnuts and raisons and top with sliced banana and/or blueberries and serve.
