Energy Boosting Suhoors

Energy-boosting-suhours

Fasting all day, for 30 days straight is bound to leave you feeling exhausted. The good news however, is that there are two ways to an easy, energy-filled Ramadan; the first is staying hydrated and the second is having a balanced Suhoor.

The latter is very important because this is what will sustain us through to the next day until we break our fast. The trick is sticking to meals that are high in fibre, proteins and healthy fats. These foods are slow to digest and slowly release energy into our bloodstream, thereby keeping us full for longer.

Here are some Suhoor ideas to consider this Ramadan:

  • Overnight oats
  • Peanut Butter Sandwich
  • Avocado on toast
  • Eggs on toast
  • Lentil Salad
  • Beans and rice
  • Greek yogurt with granola and honey
  • Quinoa Salad with root vegetables
  • Loaded breakfast smoothie

Give some of these a try this Ramadan and let us know what you think!

In short, a hearty Suhoor and sufficient hydration is all you need to get you through the month.
