With the holy month of Ramadan having come to a close, and not to mention the end of the Eid Al Fitr weekend and school holidays, many of us are getting back into the swing of settling into our normal routines; getting into work on time, dropping our kids off at school, meal planning, grocery shopping… etc. Needless to say, we all know how tedious this can be, and so, I’ve decided rather than writing a post about how to ease yourself back into everyday life (a feat I’m sure most of you are pros at by now!), I’m going to pick up the mood with a fun and exciting announcement!
Introducing Empowering Women Through Cooking UAE; a cookbook with a cause and for which yufeed is a proud sponsor!
This is a very unique cookbook that features 55 recipes and stories of women from around the UAE. Within the pages of this cookbook, the women of the UAE are celebrated, taking their stories out of their home kitchens and enabling them to find their voices by sharing their remarkable accomplishments. Inside, we have recipes from chefs, restaurateurs, influencers, stay-at-home moms, and fashion designers to name a few. In addition to the recipes, the book features 16 articles written by a wide range of experts in both the health and business spheres. These sections are designed to be a resource for readers, as they seek to better themselves through wellness and nutrition or by starting an F&B business of their own.
This book is the latest in a series of four others; Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Turkey, all championed by the Empowering Through platform (a.k.a. the EWC Team), which is based out of Jordan. Furthermore, not only is yufeed a sponsor, but the entire project was managed and coordinated by yufeed Founder, Arij Baidas and Content Writer, Nadia Kamber. Initially, it seemed like a no brainer; with both women being avid cooks themselves, the challenge of being a part of something so unique and special was nothing short of a privilege. When it came down to it however, collecting the recipes and stories and not to mention, coordinating with more than 65 women was most certainly a struggle, to say the least! There was a lot of going back and forth to make sure the recipes were written correctly, and to ensure justice was given to every contributor’s story. Some people backed out of the project halfway through and had to be replaced. There was also the challenge of including subjects from all seven Emirates – these are to name a few of the several challenges we faced as the project progressed. Like most things however, it all came together in the end, and the result is a beautiful and priceless book that we are all extremely honoured to have been made an integral part of.
To learn more about our journey as well as those of our contributors, the book is now available for purchase on amazon.ae as well as in all major bookstores across the UAE.
Last, but certainly not least, proceeds are donated to the World Food Programme (WFP).
